This album was recorded from 2006 to 2008 in a tiny room on the 3rd floor of a Unitarian Church on 8th and Vermont in the heart of Los Angeles. This church served as the home of J.U.i.C.E. from 2001 to 2008.
Many of the MCs and producers on this album are now a whose who of Los Angeles MCs and producers, including Open Mike Eagle, Dumbfoundead, NoCanDo, Sirah, and Rogue Venom, Duke Westlake aka Maestroe and Alwayz Prolifc of E.Super and more. Old school heads Kenny Segal, DJ Drez, and DJ Prolifix also lent their considerable skills to this project. We are proud to have served as a home for these artists to sharpen their skills and become the MCs and producers that are major contributors to hip-hop culture today. Nameless and Silencio continue their contributions to J.U.i.C.E. and are now Co-Executive Directors of J.U.i.C.E.

Justice by Uniting in Creative Energy (J.U.i.C.E.) was founded in 2001 in the Rampart District of Los Angeles. We are a non-profit hip hop collective that meets every Saturday from 12-4pm at the MacArthur Park Rec. Center. (2230 W. 6th St., Los Angeles, CA 90057) and every Thursday from 5pm – 9pm at Chuco’s Justice Center (1137 E Redondo Blvd in Inglewood, CA).
We teach visual arts workshops, paint large-scale and legal graffiti murals in the community, record and produce music, emcee, bboy/bgirl on a large hardwood floor to live DJs.
We create unique opportunities for underserved young artists to showcase their work, network with peers and professionals and engage with their communities in a positive manner through the arts. The program is free for all age groups.
Our vision is to sustain a safe and permanent home for youth where the elements of hip-hop are used as a tool for social change, youth empowerment and art education.
Our mission is to address the root causes of juvenile crime and of youths’ need for belonging by providing a safe center run by and for young people, focused on skill building in the arts of the hip-hop culture.
